Warner, a sincere thank you for the many great performances.and memories.DAVID L. He was apparently sick for quite some time so in the end, it was probably for the best when he passed on. Warner passed away on Sunday from a cancer-related illness according to his family. Warner also contributed some great performances on television as well in shows such as "Twin Peaks", "Star Trek: The Next Generation", "Penny Dreadful", and a couple of miniseries such as 1978's "Holocaust"(in which he was nominated for an Emmy) and 1981's "Masada"(in which he did win an Emmy). His character's decapitation by a sheet of metal is one of the most spectacular deaths in 1970s horror.Īmong his other career highlights(there are simply too many to list them all) are 1981's "Time Bandits"(in which his character's name was "Evil"), 1982's "Tron", 1985's "The Company of Wolves", 1994's "In the Mouth of Madness", 1997's "Scream 2", and possibly his most "high-profile" role, 1997's "Titanic". Warner often played a villain in films, but he was most definitely a victim in 1976's horror-flick "The Omen". In the 1970s alone, Warner appeared in three movies for Sam Peckinpah: 1970's "The Ballad Of Cable Hogue" with Jason Robards 1971's "Straw Dogs" with Dustin Hoffman and 1977's "Cross of Iron" with James Coburn and James Mason. Warner's professional highpoint was probably the decades of the 1970s and 1980s when he appeared in numerous high-profile features from some big-league directors. Before that, Warner made his mark on stage with several Shakespeare productions with various acting troupes in London as well as the Royal Shakespeare Company. It's well worth it.Īnother favorite of mine is 1963's "Tom Jones" with Albert Finney as the title character and I believe that might be the first movie Warner appeared in, though I could be wrong. If you've never seen the flick, do yourself a favor and check it out. It's a great little movie with elements of humor, romance, and suspense with Warner delivering a chilling performance as the killer. Wells(the real-life author who wrote "The Time Machine") who must travel into the future to modern-day San Francisco to stop his friend(David Warner) who turns out to be Jack the Ripper. It was 1979's under-seen gem "Time After Time" starring Malcolm McDowell as H.G. I think the very first movie I ever saw David Warner act in was a film that, sadly, not enough people are familiar with. In the summer of 2005, an unrated special edition of the film (the original release was rated PG-13 and the director's cut rated R) was released on DVD. ReceptionĬoyote Ugly was generally panned by critics, who saw it as little more than an excuse to portray "hot, sexy women dancing on a bar in a wet T-shirt contest." Even admitted that while "incredibly attractive" women "flaunt that fact" in the film, "that's all there is". Įarly on, before the producers decided to cast mostly unknown actors for the movie, the lead role of Violet Sanford was offered to pop singer Jessica Simpson, who turned it down. Kevin Smith, who did an uncredited rewrite of the script, stated that a total of eight writers worked on the script while the Writers Guild of America only gave credit to Gina Wendkos, who wrote the first draft of the script, which, according to Smith, scarcely resembles the final film. The film was based on an article, "The Muse of the Coyote Ugly Saloon", in GQ by Elizabeth Gilbert, who worked as a bartender in the East Village. ![]()

There can be hundreds of trucks on any level at any one time, and they crash into each other, fall off the track and can even blow up. I really struggled with Clustertruck it’s chaotic and no two runs are the same, providing no opportunity to remember the way certain trucks move on specific points of the course. You start to feel tested and the need to implement more patience and skill is necessary. In the first world, the desert, it doesn’t feel particularly challenging, but towards the end it really picks up. There’s an abundance of levels for you to play, all taking place over different themed worlds including ancient, winter, medieval and steampunk. Ever have that dream where you’re floating down the stairs, occasionally feeling a step underneath your feet? That’s how it feels to play Clustertruck. If you fall off, touch the ground or get walloped by one of the many obstacles you encounter, it’s back to the start. In Clustertruck, you have to jump on a shitload of moving trucks in each level, reaching the finish line in one continuous movement, all through a first-person perspective. It’s bastard hard, but occasionally the physics can let it down and you realise that it’s not 100% your fault. I don’t think I’m particularly bad at games either, but this made me feel like such an amateur, a rookie, even though I’ve been playing video games since I was 7 years old. If you want to look at the cool things with slowmo, and know what your doing patiently or be fast af boiiii and use stuff like the portable truck which is very good if used well! You can even use it as a shield if theres trucks gonna take you out, spawn the truck in it and boom. However with this in hand I would critize the other abilities I have, but it really is down to playstyle. Freeze Trucks just messes with you, I thought it would be pretty easy to bypass a level with freeze but the cooldown isn't very high and as soon as its gone or you just activate it you think you go EXTREMELY fast because the trucks arn't keeping up and you normally just die.Įpic Mode is also another ability thats not useful and is only good for getting points but even then the cooldown is small so the amount of points you can get are minimal. I recommend you to use double jump&Slowmo early on and save for something you think you would like.Ībilties NOT to get: Freeze Trucks. Sometimes even the most simple things and cheap things, are the most logical and best to use. I remember level 8-8 I got stuck on, I eventually got through with luck but when I got the truck booster, it was much easier. I have been stuck on levels before, for 5-10 minutes, normally my solution was I either got lucky or I decided to use different and the more logical abilities and saved up for style points to buy them. ![]() since im like bad because I ragequitted the last level *Classic me )* I don't think you should exactly trust me fully. |
